Q. How do I survive an airplane ride with Allergies, Asthma, and Sinusitis?
A.If you have any food allergies, you should always try to call ahead before your flight or when purchasing your airline ticket and order a meal which will not interfere with your allergies. The majority of airlines are very helpful in accommodating you with a variety of meals to suit your preference and needs.
One should always try to avoid drinking alcohol and caffeine (coffees and cola's contain caffeine), as these may dry out your nasal passages. Your body's natural reaction to dried nasal passages is to produce more mucus; this may result in one experiencing PND (post nasal drip), congestion and pressure in their facial region.
You should also drink lots of water as water rehydrates your system and helps increase the flow of mucus, enabling the body to get rid of allergens or irritant particles which may be causing one to suffer from allergies.
